28.07.2010 Towards a scientific and societal agenda on extra-terrestrial life

Should extra-terrestrial life exist, upcoming efforts will provide living generations with a realistic chance of its detection. Even more than the scientific agenda, a corresponding complementary societal agenda needs to be debated. With a mix of invited talks and panel debates, we particularly look into the detection of life, the communication with potential extra-terrestrial civilizations, the implications for the future of humanity, and the political processes that are required. October 4-5, 2010.

18.06.2010 Cell biology and plant proteomics workshop

A workshop, to be held on July 2, 2010 at the Institute of Cell Biology and Genetic Engineering, Kyiv. Two English language lectures will be presented by Slovakian researchers from the Institute of Plant Genetics and Biotechnology, Slovak Academy of Sciences. Jan Salaj - the newly elected director, a recognized expert in the field of cell biology and somatic embryogenesis and Martin Hajduch - experienced specialist in seed maturation proteomics. After the presentations there will be a round table discussion.

19.05.2010 Ukrainian SMEs to learn about EU funding opportunities in research: Press conference, workshop and consulations

The Workshop and ensuing Consultations will be conducted in Kyiv at the Ukrainian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, 10 Stritenska, room 402, 4th floor, respectively on May 20th and 21st.

A press conference will be held from 16.10 to 16.40. However, in order to facilitate public dissemination of relatively complex and dense information, a preparatory briefing will be organised for the press in a separate room from 15.40 to 16.10.
