• Epigenetics and molecular mechanisms of hybridization/polyploidization in plants (especially molecular evolution, structural rearrangements and differential expression of ribosomal DNA in plant hybrids/allopolyploids).
• Molecular taxonomy.
• Molecular physiology of abiotic stress and adaptation, molecular evolution of stress-genes.
